Coaters for paper and board

On-line or off-line coaters use drying systems in the widest variety of configurations, depending on the quality of the end product and the desired production speed.

Paper and Board machines

On paper and board(making) machines, drying systems and elements for contact-free web turn are found after size and metering size presses. On a number of older paper machines, too, performance has been improved significantly by installing IR dryers immediately after the wet presses or at other positions on the paper or board machine.

Steel and Casting

In the iron and steel industry, Voith IR systems have already been used for the widest variety of applications. In addition to drying coated steel tape, the Voith IR emitters are also used for thermal treatment of cast steel masks, where non-contact heat transfer by radiation ensures uniform hardening of the casting moulds. A considerable increase in the cycle frequency during manufacture of the masks is also achieved by comparison with other methods.

Galvanics

The Voith K6.500 metal emitter has been used successfully for many years now in a specially developed technique to thicken sludge in the galvanic industry. Here, the Voith emitter makes a major contribution to protecting the environment and reducing dumping costs for plant operators.

Road Marking

In road construction, road marking strips are affixed with heat provided by an emitter developed especially for this application and operated according to the injector principle with LPG.
